Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me.

Sadly I will be alone for this one. Matt had to do a concert he didn't want to do, so I will be live tweeting (humonlazydiva) my impression of the whole shebang.

The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

This is a journal for ~NDroid (finished). And no, no one is to use this unless given permission to do so

The design was from the recently concluded CSS contest which ~NDroid won himself a 3 month sub. And am his designated coder. Was too busy and my friggin' ISP had problems so i took a long time to get this thing out. Sorry for the delay, ~NDroid

Been kind of down in the dumps, more problems with my mom

and then I tried a new anti-depressant and it made me sick.......I can never take them it seems

I rather be just depressed then sick and depressed

I never encourage anyone to take anti-depressants

they affect you and make you become more depressed in the long run. One my friends committed suicide this way so it's kind of a bad experience for me i guess. Am glad in a way you cant take them 'coz of that

I always try and get my mind focused on other things to get me less depressed and it usually helps

And yes am fine, thnx for asking. The one weekend where am actually getting some time off, before work starts again on monday

Yes, it does have an effect on children and teenagers to make them more suicidal, there was a whole long brochere on that in the packaging. Well it's not so much that I have my mind on anything in particular, it's just that I'm always tired, not motavated to do anything, no energy or ambition and I always seem crabby...not like I keep dwelling on my problems. I hide behind my computer just for that fact I guess

And I'm glad you got a weekend off, bet that felt good! Enjoy the rest of it!
